Hi just thought I would introduce myself my name is duncan I own a 1990 H reg cabriolet when it was new was a 1.6i
when I bought it the spec was as follows
escort cosworth illusion bumpers front and rear
rs turbo side skirts and bonnet
rs turbo engine
white gti wheels
evo rear spoiler
blue sparco bucket seats
lowered about 80mm (was stupid )(just cut the springs !!!!!!!!)
had made the rear speaker mounts larger to fit 6x9 speakers and covered them in a blue felt like material
that was 2003

since then I have
changed shocks and springs to g max (think its 25 or 40mm)
got rid of the bucket seats and fitted original set of seats to match rest of trim
had wheels powder coated silver
removed rs turbo engine and fitted 2.0 litre zetec on bike carbs and megajolt
pushing out about 175 bhp

things planned
have a half leather interior recaro front seats to fit afer they have been re trimmed
decide if i am goint to have the large speaker mounts re trimmed or go back to the standard size ones
also torn between keeping the cosworth illusion kit r try to sorce a set of rs turbo bumpers and normal rear wing

hope to get to some of the shows this year but plann to go to more next year work permitting

hi and welcome to the club, car looks good was never keen on big rear bumpers but thats just a personal thing did you fit the bike carbs? and how does it tick over with them on?

hi yes I fitted the carb's ticks over lovely have re jetted them and had it set up on a rolling road

I have a couple of classic ford's running on bike carbs
pop plus fiesta with a 1.8l zetec in it (will be featured in performance ford next month)
and a p100 again with zetec in it granada cosworth back axle

yeh its pretty clean one of previous owners covered the car in waxoil inside dors and stuff so this has kept the rust at bay

welcome ,i must say ur cabby looks really nice, white with a grey roof i keep thinking about putting mine back to all white (money permitting )and now really thinking about it since ive seen yours lol

hi thanks for the comments the hood is white and gave it a good scrub yesterday with some sugar soap came up quite well could do with another go to see if it comes any cleaner would like a black mohair roof if I had the money to get it done
